Routine: The performer turns his back. Five volunteers secretly mix five unmarked envelopes each containing a different E.S.P card. (All five cards have the five standard ESP symbols on them.) Each volunteer keeps one envelope. Three are asked to open their envelops but first, decide among themselves who will be in the group of three. Three E.S.P cards are removed and the three corresponding envelopes are hidden. The three cards are held so the volunteers can see their symbols but not the performer. The performer now turns to face the audience and instantly names the order of the cards. Many performers create interesting patter and by-play, about the selections, which becomes a highpoint in their program. Once the cards have been identified and a round of applause accepted, the performer may put on a blindfold (not supplied) and the two remaining envelopes are secretly mixed then held up. Without seeing the cards the performer successfully identifies the two remaining symbols held by the last two volunteers to the amazement of the audience.
