| 1. The first picture is the back of the box. It's cut all the way around, called rabbits, to allow extra gluing surface and to square the assembly. 2. Second photo shows the back section with one side attached. 3. In the third photo the bottom is set in place. All parts of this box are made from 5 ply Birch. Other manufacturers use Multi-density fiberboard board. (Click here to see why multi-density Fiberboard is bad. LINK) Also many of the online stores offer a box with a fixed mirror. They advertise "No Moving Parts to be concerned about" like this is some kind of advantage. there has never been a problem with moving parts. the illusion only looks good with moving parts. Making it without moving parts is an excuse to put out an inferior product. We are proud of our Emerald box with moving parts. Nothing looks better then opening the doors, showing the box empty, closing the doors then immediately opening them again and your rabbit has appeared. When you don't have moving parts you must remove the rabbit from the lid. The non moving parts prop must have the front doors closed when the rabbit is produced. As you know, kids are hard to fool. They can see you showing the front of a box empty then producing a rabbit from the top. The non moving parts box doesn't look anywhere near as good as ours does. We believe our Emerald box is one of the nicest ever made. A beauty to behold and as close to real magic as it gets. |

| First photo below is the lid. Notice the machined lip that acts as a stop when the lid is shut. A partially constructed case is pictured next. The opening in the top is made to accept the lid. It has a corresponding lip the lid rests on. The third photo shows the lid id in place. Look how perfectly it fits. Many manufacturers just cut the lid out of the top with a jig saw and use both pieces to save on wood (click here to see what we mean. LINK) We prefer to make the lid separately because it makes a much better product. | |||||||||

| It is impossible for someone working in their garage or in a small woodworking shop to carve all the openings as perfectly as we can. That's because we use a $40,000 dollar machine to do the work. Most of our time is spent programing the machine and finishing the wood. The actual cutting time is spent getting coffee. Because we only use plywood this box will last through many years of performance. Other boxes break easily if you drop them because they are made from cheep Multi-density Fiberboard. (Click here to see an example of cheep construction LINK).
The size is approximately 12 wide X 8 X 10 deep It will hold a good size rabbit. The rabbit pictured is 13 inches long, at rest and 14 inches around his belly. (Click here to see a larger picture of the box LINK) |

| Just insert the tips of your fingers and flip the doors open. We decided not to use knobs because they stick out and damage other props when your show is packed for travel.
