The volunteer is asked to think of only one color ball. In a series of shifting the tubes & balls with each other, by the volunteer, the performer then turns around and can immediately call out the color thought of.} ^{No questions are ever asked of the volunteer.}

			^{Phase two: "Perhaps I could tell what color you were thinking of because the tubes are numbered" says the performer. "Turn them around so the numbers are facing away from me AND this time only switch the balls, not the tubes".
